Install ESET with preconfigured settings, username password etc

Install ESET on test machine and config settings.
Export settings to file.
Rename file cfg.xml and put in same directory as Installer.

Alternatively use ESET Configuration Editor.

Exclude domains/senders to Eset Mail Security approvedsenders file

Open Notepad.exe as administrator.

Navigate to:
Windows Server 2008/R2 – %\Program Data\ESET\ESET Mail Security \ServerAntispam\
Windows Server 2000/2003 – %\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET \ESET Mail Security\MailServer

Open file: approvedsenders

Add email addresses or domains.

Create Spam Mailbox on ESET Mail Security for Exchange

Note: Requires additional mailbox licence

1. Create new mailbox on exchange ie: “spamfilter@domain.com”

2. ESET Mail Security > Setup > Server Protection > Microsoft Exchange Server > Message Quarantine
In Common Message Quarantine add “spamfilter@domain.com”.

3.ESET Mail Security > Setup > Server Protection > Antispam protection > Mircosoft Exchange Server > Transport Agent
Set Action to take on spam messages: Quarantine message.

Check number of Licences needed for Eset Mail Security

Active Directory users and computers
Right-click on the domain and click Find
Find > Custom search > Advanced tab.

Paste in the following Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) query and click Find Now:
